J. Michael (known as Mike) entered the residential real estate business in San Mateo County in 1974. Mike earned Lifetime Membership in the Million Dollar Club early in his career, and spent 15 years managing one of the Peninsula’s largest residential Real Estate Companies. In the 1980’s Mike founded Bankers Real Estate Company, one of the Peninsula’s leading real estate investment firms. In the early 1990’s Mike re-entered the residential real estate field as a Broker and soon earned Coldwell Banker’s top Premier Status. At the start of 2007 the Horwitz Team joined the Prudential Company in their Fine Homes Division where Mike as a Broker is actively selling real estate as well as coaching and mentoring new agents in the business. The Horwitz Team earned Prudential's Top Award, Chairman's Circle, Diamond in their first year at Prudential. Having grown-up and lived most of his adult life on the Peninsula, Mike knows the SF Peninsula intimately well. Mike’s love of the business is evident in his enthusiasm and commitment. His dedication and experience are valuable in today’s real estate environment.

Melinda obtained her real estate license and joined her husband Mike approximately fifteen years ago. After raising three children, and the youngest off to college, Melinda decided to pursue a new career. Real estate was the obvious choice to her. She had assisted her husband Mike and knew working together as a real estate team would be both rewarding and challenging.
Melinda enjoys working both with sellers and buyers. She coordinates and manages all aspects of the listing of a home for a seller. For a buyer she will use her marketing and research skills to seek out and preview every home that could possibly meet your needs. We work with a large network of qualified realtors and agencies to keep abreast of all new or potential homes that will be coming available. Melinda will communicate with her network to monitor activity in the specific areas and neighborhoods that the client has an interest. She will counsel a buyer on the many different factors to consider when moving to a new home and or a new neighborhood. And most importantly she will act as partner to ensure the search for a home is a satisfying and enjoyable process. She is a Fine Homes Specialist as well as being certified in Residential Relocation .Melinda was raised in Hillsborough and attended the local schools. She plays an active part in Burlingame, Hillsborough and the surrounding communities. This immersion in local communities provides Melinda with an intimate perspective of the surroundings geography and culture. Her commitment to excellence in service to the client is her number one priority.
